When I realised how much good music is being made by independent artists on decentralised platforms it inspired me so much I chose to end my Spotify subscription and instead commit to spend the money on 10-15 indie tracks per month from artists who have a presence in The Fediverse and are on fair & open source platforms such as Ampwall, Bandwagon, Faircamp, Funkwhale, Jam.coop, Mirlo, Subvert etc.
I’d make mixtapes from the tracks and share them at nham.co.uk. With the help of sknob and others NHAM soon became a lot more than just a home for my mixtapes. It is now an online music magazine promoting independent artists from The Fediverse who release on fair platforms.
This pod is where we share some of the radio show versions of the original mixtapes as well as other shows where we promote Fedi artists.
In the MIXTAPES I dissect each mixtape and give some info behind the artists and their songs.
In SOUND TABLE I invite guests to hear and discuss recent releases from Fedi musicians.
